So, tonight Kendra and I confessed our love for Hannah Montana and decided to go see it together. Yes. On opening day. There were slutty 13 year old girls texting behind Kendra texting and kicking her seat. There were two five year olds fighting and crying and whining behind me. A jaded single father in front of us. And two suburbia couples with their perfect children duking it out because one of the mothers wouldn't put her cell phone away. God I hate New Jersey. But I loved the movie!!!
Kendra and I before the show!!!

A great thing about the movie was that it had a lot of Tennessee native musicians in it. Including Rascal Flatts jammin with grannies to "Backwards"... but most touchingly, singing at night on a front porch swing with only an acoustic guitar "Bless The Broken Road." I hadn't heard that song in so long. We listened to it on the way home on Kendra's iPod. I'm glad I heard it tonight. For the first time I was really able to appreciate the lyrics. I hope you do to.
I set out on a narrow way many years ago
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you
Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like Northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
I think about the years I spent just passing through
I'd like to have the time I lost and give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand
You've been there you understand
It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true
Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like Northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
Now I'm just rolling home
Into my lover's arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
